The County Collector is the collector of taxes for the county, which includes the collection of municipal, county, school and improvements district taxes.  Once these are collected, the collector is responsible for submitting them to the county treasurer.

The Collector's Office is also responsible for collection ad valorem property taxes for all assessments of real estate and personal property within the county.  Taxes are collected the following year after assessments are completed.  Tax books open March 1st of each year.  Current taxes can be paid any time between March1st and October 10th without a penalty.  Any real or personal property taxes not paid by the tenth of October are considered delinquent and the collector extends a 10% penalty, interest and cost against the taxpayer.

You can make a voluntary contribution with your tax payment to ICARE (Izard County Animal Rescue Effort).  The funds collected will help spay/neuter animals and be used for other purposes concerning animal welfare in Izard county.  For more information call 870-368-7888 or 870-346-5657.

Payment Options

• Mail your payment to Izard County Collector, PO Box 490, Melbourne, AR 72556
• Pay over the phone with a credit or debit card.  We accept Visa, Master Card or Discover.  A 3.75% fee will be charged on all credit card or debit card payments. Because we are a governmental entity, all costs associated with the convenience of credit or debit card usage cannot be deducted from your tax amount due, therefore a processing fee in addition to the taxes due is charged.  Izard County does not receive any portion of this convenience fee.
• Pay in person at our office located in the Izard County Courthouse.  Our office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm.
• All Delinquent personal property must be paid with cash, money order or cashiers check, no checks.
• If you would like a receipt mailed to you, Please provide a self addressed, stamped envelope in which to return it or provide us with an e-mail address.  We can e-mail receipts or statements.
• Taxpayers can make up to 3 payments on current taxes; delinquent taxes have to be paid in full.
